Event Description

We were tired of having to travel 10,000 km to get good authentic Indonesian food so we decided to pull out some family recipes of our own, turns out they're pretty good so...we wanted to share them with you all!

Join us in the trendy vaults of Shoreditch for a night to remember! We've made a few alterations to the menu to accommodate for vegans and vegetarians, so there is something for everyone!

Our Menu

As a guest you can eat anything on the menu! If you're vegan or vegetarian dishes are clearly marked! You will also be entitled to one glass of red or white wine, picked by our sommeliers!

Starters

Tempeh Mendoan (Vegan) - Lightly fried tempeh (fermented soya bean) with chilli sauce
Sayap Ayam Goreng - Battered fried chicken seasoned with khafir lime leaves, garlic and chilli
Soto (Vegan) - Tofu with vermicelli noodles and fragrant vegetable broth

Mains

Gado gado (Vegan) - Lightly blanched vegetables, tofu and tempeh with spicy peanut sauce dressing
Chicken Satay - Succulent chicken satay with peanut sauce or sweet soy
Tofu Satay (Vegan) - Succulent soy satay pieces with peanut sauce or sweet soy
Beef Satay - Succulent beef satay with peanut sauce or sweet soy
Morning Glory (Vegan) - Stir fried kangkung (water spinach) sautéed in ginger, garlic, tamarind, onion and chilli
Rendang - Slow cooked beef in aromatic spices, coconut milk and khafir lime leaves
Rendang Kentang (Vegan) - Slow cooked potatoes in aromatic spices, coconut milk and khafir lime leaves
Urap (Vegan) - Sautéed vegetables with freshly grated coconut and chilli

Sides

Jasmine Rice - Fragrant jasmine rice with coconut
Krupuk (Fried Crackers) - Prawn or vegetable crackers

Dessert

Chendol (Vegan) - Coconut milk mixed with palm sugar, coconut palm nut, grass jelly, jackfruit and pandan rice flour jelly
Pisang Goreng (Vegan) - Fried banana fritters with dairy free ice cream
Surpise vegan dessert - It's yum we promise

Finished of with Wedang Jahe (hot ginger drink)

Sari Wangi (Indonesian tea)

The Grocery Vaults London - The Grocery Wine Vault & Bar is all about organic, biodynamic and natural wines. The best and tastiest wines around. The resident sommeliers will be pairing the wine with the food (details tbc).
