Cafe Nouveau at Home, the underground tea room in Huddersfield, is celebrating the Queen’s official birthday with some quintissentially British treats. Enjoy afternoon as it's meant to be served: vintage china, linen table cloths, antique cake stands, teapots and a welcoming host who gives guests the opportunity to spend a couple of hours in afternoon tea heaven. - As a fanatical baker and lover of all things French I decided to set up Cafe Nouveau at Home - Huddersfield's first underground tearoom, inspired of course by The Secret Tearoom, Leeds!
Once a month guests will be served a sumptious home-made afternoon tea in an original Edgar Wood house. Doors open at 2pm and guests will be sharing tea and their table with lovely, friendly people who will start off as strangers but will hopefully become friends for the afternoon.
Guests will receive a Yorkshire inspired afternoon tea with lovely fresh sandwiches, savoury tarts, homemade cakes, scones and tea from Holmfirth all served on vintage china collected over the last few years by antique bargain hunting parents!

I started a Birkby Lodge Private Dining Club (aka Underground Restaurant) in October, not got round to doing any publicity on this site as busy with my Christmas bookings. Nice to know there is life in Huddersfield
