Hi everyone! I am going to be launching a supper club early next year and am looking in to the possibility of doing a few extra special pre-launch nights on the run up to christmas. I'd love for you to join me at my cosy home for some festive food. The fire will be lit and the food and good times will warm you up on those winter nights. Get in touch for more info if you are interested.

A question to supper club-ees and supper club-ers.
Truffles are yummy. And expensive. Do you think there are enough people who would come to a supper club if there was a premium fee on top of the normal donation to cover the cost of these gorgeous, earthy treasures?
What do you think?

Spent a week in Bordeaux (SW France) and enjoyed the autumnal bounty of fresh cepes and girolles among many other edible wonders. Local figs and grapes (chalsselas and muscat) brought back the pleasure of TASTE and the thrill of a proper producer's market, full of buzz where young, old, well-off as well as modest shoppers are all united in the quest for quality local produce.…

Who would have thought starting a supper club would make you new friends. Well, that's not strictly true! What I actually mean to say is that I didn't think I would be making new friends. After all, most of my time is spent in the kitchen! I don't get that much time to mingle and get to know the guests (not in the same way hubby does), only really at the end of the evening!
Anyway, I have met the most wonderful people at our supper club. Two of them took me to…

The next YO31 secret diners club meal will be on Saturday 3rd November. So far I'm making mini Yorkshire puddings with Thorganby roast beef, gravy and horseradish. Hoping to find some wild horseradish locally. I'm also doing brushetta (Italian, I know) made with flour from 'Yorkshire Organic Millers', Spaunton, which is north west of Pickering. They do a great range of Soil Association Organic flours. On that will be black pudding, probably from Murton farmers market, some local soft blue…

We recently held a birthday celebration at our supper club and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed all the preparations and hard work that went into it.
I'm a bit of a perfectionist I think or at the very least I like to get things right. I spent a lot of time thinking about and searching for something special I could do for my birthday guest. I ended up baking an orange cake (I cannot begin to tell you how long I spent looking for a cake stand that was the right size and…

It has been an interesting week at The Fat Carrot. We have been dressed as pirates for the local school, 'wearing it pink' for breast cancer at Tonbridge Farmers Market and are now prepareing for Halloween & world Vegan Month. Tolkien our mascot has put out a facebook appeal for our customers to eat more carrots. This is not health advice on his part we should add! Simply that he is a cute grey rabbit and he likes getting the carrot tops for tea...We have some availability for our Vegan…

What an awesome crowd we had for our French evening on Saturday. 12 delightful guests, 4 of which had birthdays. They were such good company, enjoyed all the food and applauded the chef after every course! Love it.
We spoilt them a little by making the birthday boys and girls individual birthday cakes which went down a treat. Leftovers being taken home in a doggy bag! We even had the disco lights on - a fun night. And they've booked again for January 2013 - bring it on!

Thanks to all the wonderful guests who created much laughter and merriment at our Scratch double-barrel feature weekend. Esp those lovely lassies who brought flowers or chocolates (!*^&*^? and paid their bill!) and those who broke into spon

I grew up in Shanghai and moved four years ago to the San Francisco Bay
Area to marry an American scientist. In the US I fell in love with cooking in different styles and got a reputation for dinner parties with unusual and delicious menus. Now I have moved to Nottingham with my husband and I want to share my vision of cooking with people here. I am very excited to find out about the Supper Club. It is my dream to make my passion and enthusiasm for food into more than just a hobby.…

Thinking that secret tea parties in my home for around 10-20 guests were getting a little easy and boring (that's a joke), I decided to rent a village hall with a friend and really go for it! It wasn't perhaps as easy as we'd thought selling 50 tickets but we did it in the end and it was an incredible amount of work but great fun. We'll do it again next year. The theme was Vintage and we had five hand-picked stalls for added interest. Jane had dressed the room amazingly and I think our…

Last year in the summer after many conversations of food and experiences, my boyfriend and amazing chef Ben and I decided to take the plunge and start up a supper club.
As a project manager for many years (and being as anal as ever) I drew up a timetable of when we could hold our first event, what needed doing, buying etc. I went into full organisational mode.
Meanwhile Ben dreamed up the delicious wonders he could bring to the table in his way and without a head chef swearing…
