In a few sentences tell us something about yourself: As a fanatical baker and lover of all things French I decided to set up Cafe Nouveau at Home - Huddersfield's first underground tearoom, inspired of course by The Secret Tearoom, Leeds!

Once a month guests will be served a sumptious home-made afternoon tea in an original Edgar Wood house. Doors open at 2pm and guests will be sharing tea and their table with lovely, friendly people who will start off as strangers but will hopefully become friends for the afternoon.

Guests will receive a Yorkshire inspired afternoon tea with lovely fresh sandwiches, savoury tarts, homemade cakes, scones and tea from Holmfirth all served on vintage china collected over the last few years by antique bargain hunting parents!

Thank you Marie-Claire for a superb afternoon at Cafe Nouveau on 10th July 2011. We really enjoyed our first outing to an underground restaurant. The food was dellicious and the company entertaining. You are a lovely and welcoming hostess and I am sure you will have great success. Hope to join you again soon for more cake! Andrea
