A vintage afternoon tea party at a secret village hall in Cheshire (venue will be shared with our guests a week beforehand), with special guest Lynn Hill who founded The Clandestine Cake Club in 2010 and will be publishing her first baking book in February 2013, full of recipes from cake club members. Lynn has appeared on The One Show, Women's Hour, The Alan Titchmarsh Show, Channel 4's Baking Mad with Eric Lanlard, amongst other TV and radio shows.
On arrival, guests will be offered a choice of welcome "cocktails" in a vintage tea cup and will be seated at tables laid with our beautiful collection of vintage china, cutlery and table linens. Lynn Hill will speak briefly about how the Clandestine Cake Club came about and its rapid growth to become an international network of bakers. Following which we'll serve our guests a delicious and freshly baked afternoon tea of finger sandwiches, fluffy scones with clotted cream and preserves and a selection of tea time cakes and fancies, some taken from Lynn's new Clandestine Cake Club cookbook. Not forgetting lashings of leaf tea or freshly brewed coffee.
Lynn will be joining in with our afternoon tea and signing copies of her cookbook on the day, but please note that guests are neither expected or required to purchase copies. Lynn is with us to promote the pleasure of baking, sharing and chatting about cake. If you have the Clandestine Cake Club Cookbook and would like Lynn to sign it please do bring it with you.
Tickets are £20 and are on sale now here:
