Chez Shamwari, the first underground cafe in the World Heritage Site of Saltaire, will be serving afternoon tea on Saturday 6 August.

Guests will be served a delectable afternoon tea in one of the historical Grade II listed houses in Saltaire. Your table is booked for 2pm in cosy and intimate surroundings and will be shared with the other guests. I am sure you will be well acquainted by the end of the afernoon!

A menu will follow shortly but will include a variety of freshly made sandwiches, savouries, cakes and scones representative of South African cuisine along with a selection of tea and coffee.

Suggested donation is £12-£14 per person, depending on the menu, payable on the day.

PS .. For those interested this event will coincide the Saltaire Archive Summer Exhibition (http://www.shipley.ac.uk/site01/content.asp?id=109) which would be well worth a visit before or after your afternoon tea.
