On my journey through Thailand, I decided to explore Chiang Mai and its border with Laos. This trip also took along the Mekong River to Luang Praban. The city was formerly the capital of a kingdom of the same name.
The two day journey was done in a slow boat which took two days to reach its destination. It was during its stops where I enjoyed the real flavours of the north of Laos, flavours that have a deep influence in Thai cuisine. Every couple of hours or so, the boat would stop for trading passengers. At these stops you could also buy some food, usually grilled chicken, papaya salad and sticky rice; all in little plastic bags.
This Dinner Event brings back those memories of this amazing trip. I will be a pleasure to share it with you all.
