An afternoon tea party, just what we need to perk us up in January ain't it? Lots of lovely tea and cake, all served with a warm Manchester welcome. Come alone, bring a friend or your other half/mum/gran and chat with other tea and cake-lovers around the dining table. You can expect vintage table linens, mismatched china tea cups and plates and pretty cutlery and napkins, laid out in the dining room and living room in our 18th century former farmhouse.

Full menu will be emailed a week beforehand. Will include a welcome drink, finger sandwiches, savoury tartlets, freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jams, followed by a selection of cakes. And a choice of leaf teas or fresh coffee.

£14 donation requested, with £5 of this in advance as a deposit . Email gwynbrock@sky.com to book a place. The deposit is non-refundable in the event you drop out and I cannot fill your place, to help cover my costs, I hope you understand.

10% of takings from this tea will go to the Gurkha Welfare Trust who care for elderly Gurkhas living in Nepal.
