Profile Information

In a few sentences tell us something about yourself: Petra graduated from high school with exceptional grades for her drawing exam. After graduating she moved to Paris for a year. In this city her love for art blossomed. Back in Holland she finished her Graphic Design study at the Grafisch Lyceum of Amsterdam and Art Direction at The International school of Communication Arts. Since 1996 she worked as an art director for renowned international advertising companies (both in Amsterdam and London) like JWT, Leo Burnett and Ogilvy.
In 2004 she quit her job as art director to become a fulltime artist in order to create her magical 'Heart-World universe'. Petra (Heart) set up her own Charity Foundation Heart-World (Making a Better World) for everyone who loves children.
In 2010 she exhibited at Art Amsterdam for the first time, after having a successful group exhibition, ‘Manga in Amsterdam’, at the Kerseboom Gallery. Since September 2010 she had several international exhibitions at the Wanrooij Gallery Amsterdam in Brussels, Hamburg, London and New York City. In 2012 she had another successful group exhibition at the Kerseboom Gallery ‘Memorable Encounters‘.
Petra lives and works in Amsterdam.
