Find a Supper Club

Find out where and when is your local underground restaurant/pop up/supper club

First Plum Kitchen Supperclub was a big success........well, thats what the guests said anyway! I was to busy trying to fight my way out from under a pile of dirty dishes to know........Dessert was served by 10pm, which is a record for me, the Pork Belly was delish, and the Jerusulem Artichoke soup was a big hit. I did neglecte to warn anyone about the unfortunate "after effects" of artichoke........just no polite way to say it really......besides which it tastes so good who cares. Really enjoyed the evning, just wish there was a clean up fairy I could organise to arrive afterwards.........!

I have to say all compliments go to my partner, a wonderful chef passionate about food, simple and humble ingredients, cooked with care and love...

Aaah, I was waiting for your blog! It's great! We have one too if you want to check it out :) http://thefrenchhousenz.blogspot.com/
We would be delighted to have you at our table one day, and you must let us know if you organize another one too! Would be a great excuse for a week-end in Auckland :)
It's great to see things shaking a bit in NZ. Wish you well

Ha ha, a little tispy is indeed a good sign:) Yes logictically the actual moving of furniture etc was the painful bit (I had 13 guests so had to move the couch, TV etc to another room), the cooking in comparison was a breeze! I was a bit nervous, but i did know quite a few people so that helped. The tough thing in some ways is getting the concept across ie this isnt a resturant, it is fine to come alone, but it isnt a "dating" service , but you might meet some interesting new people...blah blah..., easier in the UK where people have had a lot more exposure to the concept perhaps? Must find out when your next one is, I always enjoy a visit to Welly!
PS I have a wee blog which has more pics and my menu etc, if you are truly desperate for something to do check out www.plum-kitchen.blogspot.com

I completely understand it!! Yes it went well I think... guest were happy, enjoyed themselves, and left full and a bit tipsy (I think that's a good sign!). Everyone is really excited about the concept and we already have people asking for the second one, so I think we gonna have to do it again! But will have to organize the logistic a bit better and try to relax a bit :)

Thanks so much, I'm kinda thinking maybe its like childbirth, when I forget the pain of the cleanup, I'll be really keen to do it all again? :) How about you guys, how did your evening go??
