sites that are seeking to profit from supperclubs

I've received an email from an outfit called http://www.undergroundrestaurants.co.uk/

More than a year ago i bought up the domain names: theundergroundrestaurant.com and theundergroundrestaurant.co.uk. Of course at that time I didn't realise that it would be so successful and that underground restaurant would become the generic name for supperclubs. Previously it was a term used sometimes in the US but the term supperclub was more commonly used. I guess all the publicity I have received has turned the words 'underground restaurant' into the term used. Which is kind of a pain for me.

Plus I've had problems with london underground because of it. I think I'm coming to an arrangement with them now though.

not thinking that some arsehole would buy undergroundrestaurant.com and co.uk

For a start people might think I approve of these sites and that they are booking for my restaurant.

Please ignore these people, they are commercial sites trying to profit from a home grown movement. They are not part of the community.

Apparently they said on their site..."40 dinners with say 6 diners at each dinner paying £30 per head equals a turnover of £7,200! If each event takes you say 1 hour to prepare, 1 hour to clear away and say 4 hours when your guests are in your house that equals £30 per hour for you gross!"

Clearly they do not know what they are talking about.

I prefer the term supperclub. I worry that if you call yourself a restaurant people you lose some of the dinner party ethos and people start acting like they are customers and not invited guests!

Well, that will be the way it will run when I have a go.....
