South Manchester's very own social season kicks off shortly after Wimbledon fortnight and Henley Regatta with a very special Secret Strawberry Afternoon Tea Party.
Bring your own Pimms and we'll supply the jug of ice, lemonade, cucumber, mint and strawberry slices. Alternatively we'll have a summer fruit cocktail available on arrival. Followed by delicious finger sandwiches and savouries. Freshly baked scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam. And a table groaning with cakes, including our special strawberry layer cake. Not to mention plenty of pots of tea.
Come dressed as you wish. Or feel free to follow the Henley Regatta dress code: "Ladies wishing to enter the Stewards' Enclosure must ensure their hemline is below the knee and be aware that trousers are not permitted. Bare shoulders are fine and hat wearing is not obligatory, but is encouraged. Remember that high-heeled shoes will sink into the grassy banks. Men should wear lounge suits, or rowing blazers or jackets and flannels, and a tie or cravat."
If it's warm weather we'll look to eat outside, if not in the dining room in our 18th century former farmhouse.
Guests averse to strawberries, please point this out on booking, you can be accommodated if I know in advance!
Donation of £12 or more on the day please, with 10% or proceeds going to charity, this month to Amnesty International.
Email email@example.com to book a place. Details of the location will be revealed before the tea. Look forward to seeing you!
