On Saturday 7th August, Dunston saw Victory Day! We celebrated the end of the war and the end of our week of rationing with a day of Victory Celebrations. Starting with an afternoon tea, shortly followed a few hours later with a Victory dinner! The Next Big Event took over an irresistibly vintage church hall to become a Wartime pop-up restaurant for the day. From enjoying tea and sandwiches with our guests over a leisurely afternoon, to tucking into Run Rabbit Run Braised in Cider, the team and guests thoroughly enjoyed the day. It was all finished off by a fabulous dance demonstration by The Swung Eight, who taught us all to lindy hop! It was a fabulous day and we'd love to thank everyone who attended and made such an effort to dress up, lap up the vintage food, and even make their home-brew! To enjoy once more wartime Britain!
