Southbourne Secret Suppers – Northern Lights
Autumnal delights from chillier climes to bring a little hygge into your life. (yes, it’s a word, it’s Danish….)
Our next Supper Club will be held on Saturday 19th November 2016. We will be revelling in autumn dishes from snowy places across the globe from Austria to Russia to Scandinavia, for some hearty flavours straight from the forests, the hedgerow and the game park. Cheery woolly hats are positively encouraged.
On arrival: – A glass of warm Glögg - warm and gently boozy – served with beetroot blinis topped with garlic mushrooms to get the evening started

Amuse-bouche: A little cup of chestnut soup

Starter: Gin and juniper cured salmon with fennel and apple cream and rye bread

Main: A choice of either:
Pork with pickled prunes and cucumber
OR
Venison with wild mushrooms and cranberries
Each served with Janssen’s temptation, Farmers carrots and buttered greens

Pudding: Warm walnut cake with coffee ice cream and a nip of hawthorn brandy
OR
A trio of local, English cheeses
and a glass of something sweet to complement

Afters – Coffee and a little something to finish
Please call Emma on 01243 89439 to book your place. Cost is £35 per person. Arrival 7.30pm, Carriages at 11pm please. There are a very limited number of places, so booking in advance is absolutely essential, and you will be given the address of the venue once your booking has been made (the slightly clandestine thing is all part of the fun…). Tables are family-style and you may be sharing with people you don’t know – it’s all part of the experience. Please bring what you would like to drink with you; there are no corkage charges.
I’m sorry, on this occasion we cannot cater for any other dietary requirements, but watch this space and the coming months will see a variety of food styles which may suit if this isn’t for you.
