The Secret Ingredient is back!

The Secret Ingredient  have been away for a bit, lost in the jungles of Cambodia and 'Nam (where we actually had DINNER WITH THE VIET CONG!) before relocating to the London Borough of Islington.   We were also asked to appear on the 'One' show recently, but unfortunately couldn't due to other commitments, although we do make an appearance in Ms Marmite Lover's recent book about this strange and wonderful UK home restaurant phenomenon that we accidentally kick-started.

If you would like to attend one of our dinners please reply to this email with your preferred date and number of diners in the subject line as well as sending the correct donation via paypal using the email address thesecretingredienthq@gmail.com

Prices are 40 per person for the following dates:

May 18th / 19th,  June 1st / 2nd / 15th / 16th / 29th / 30th


We also cater for private parties of 12 - 16 on the Tuesdays or Fridays either side of regular dates for only 30 per person. Please get in touch if you'd like to arrange this. We've had some smashing parties here. Sometimes literally!

Price includes 9 course meal, treats, surprises, a visit to my house, lashings of my fabled "wit", a donation to a Japan relief fund, and paypal fees.

FAQ's:

WHAT'S FOR DINNER?
A lengthy and delicious vegetarian meal in 9 or so courses. It starts off with it's toes in Japan and winds up in Spain. Mainly because we think the word 'Japas' is funny ;o)    Don't worry if you're a meat eater - we even had one confirmed burger addict that said he hadn't even eaten cabbage since he was 11 walking away with a beatific glow.

MIGHT WE HAVE TO FRATERNISE WITH STRANGERS?
Yes.  You can't really avoid them in a room this big, and it's part of the fun, spirit of the blitz and all that. Fortunately they're usually witty charming and intelligent ones, much like yrself ;o)

CAN I BRING BOOZE?
Please Christ yes

CAN I SMOKE?
We have a nice sofa out back for smokers

WHAT TIME DOES DINNER START / FINISH?
People arrive at 7.45 for 8, then dinners go on as long as they need to. Without smokers, spillages, kitchen explosions and assuming the chef doesn't get too drunk the meal may go on 'til around 11, but book your childminders for an extra hour just in case.  Often people mill about after and we sit around and philosophise.
