La Mochila Clandestina is a guestaurant ran in a private flat in Brixton. We can seat 10 people in a very intimate environment. We focus on traditional home made food and street vendors flavours from around the world. We like original real food, but we also like how it can change and evolve through time and space. This is why we can say our kitchen and table likes inter-cuisine fusion.  

Who is behind La Mochila Clandestina

I am a Peruvian architect in London. I like to consider myself a globe trotter who believes that in order to really see and understand a place; one must spend time travelling like a local. And most important of all; eating with the local, what the locals eat. That is why I always do backpacking, also because it is cheap – so I can save for my next trip.

Among my favourite culinary experiences are: Nomad dinner under Mongolian Stars, Japanese immigrants and its influence in Peruvian Cuisine, A Thai and Lao river voyage experience, a tapas bar hopping through Spain in one table, My grandmother and her pasta, street stall hopping from tip to toe in Peru, among others.
