We did it. Last weekend saw the first opening of the Red Doors, and it all went well! I won’t bore you with a blow by blow account of the evening, but in headlines it went something like this:
Friday: all prepped.
Saturday pm: mini-panic with the starter.
Saturday evening: good night had by all, no disasters in the kitchen.
Sunday morning: trip to the bottle bank with all the empties! If we’re not careful the neighbours will get the wrong idea…..
So, what did we learn from the inaugural Red Door Supper Club?
1. We learnt that we can do it (which will be a relief to those who have booked for the November event!).
2. We learnt that careful menu planning helps keep the pressure to manageable levels on the night.
3. And we learnt that our dining room table is a little “snug” for what we have planned on 17 November, so we will rectify that in the coming weeks.
Thanks to the intrepid supper clubbers who came to our first event. I hope you enjoyed yourselves and got home safely
