Storm Katie damages kitchen

Dear Carrot Supporters,

The Fat Carrot has been a victim of storm Katie. The high winds in the early hours of Monday morning tore the entire roof from our production kitchen in Hildenborough and deposited it in a field about 30 meters away. Thankfully it did not hit any other building and miraculously the ceiling remained intact long enough to hold off the rain and prevent too much damage to the equipment in the building. Gorgeous greens for April 16th

I spent this morning planning the menu for April 16th supper club, which I hope will leave your mouth watering…

Pearl barley risotto with asparagus, watercress & pecorino
Lamb rump, wild garlic pesto, crushed new potatoes, braised chicory
Toffee soufflé with banana & lime ice-cream

As always, the evening starts at 7.30 with an aperitif and nibbles. We serve a three-course meal followed by coffee and petits fours, all for £27.50.…
